DCA (RAG) Amber
DCA text: Compared to financial year 21/22-Q4, Senior Responsible Owner's DCA rating at 22/23-Q4 decreased from Green to Amber. This is primarily due to the following factors. March 2022 the Secretary of State signed the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier Transport & Works Act Order (TWAO). The TWAO sets out the statutory powers to deliver the construction of the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier Scheme. Detailed design is on programme and cost estimates and the full business case will be be submitted for assurance in the next quarter. The construction industry is subject to very high inflation due to fuel prices and under-supply in key areas such as availability of heavy plant. We are updating the project estimate to take account of inflation that has occurred and the predicted level anticipated in future years. The Environment Agency is reviewing the impact that inflation is having on partnership funding arrangements.
