| Description: | The TIME Project is a multi-phased £130m project which will eventually deliver 285 mental health beds in four/five sites across North Merseyside. Phase I comprises a new 85 bedded unit on the old Walton General site (£25m) and an 85 bedded unit in Edge Lane/Old Swan (£27m). The Phase I buildings are being procured under the NHS LIFT Initiative in conjunction with Liverpool and Sefton Health Partnership (LSHP). Phase II will follow but may be procured via other routes. The new accommodation will be single room en suite, with access to outside and therapy spaces. It will replace functionally unsuitable accommodation currently based on a number of disparate sites. This will release significant land for sale. The two Phase I schemes have now been designated for separate Financial Close, with Edge lane/Old Swan expected to be approximately six/nine months behind. Financial Close for Walton is expected to be September/October 2012 with occupation two years later. |
