| Description: | The project aims to create more space to welcome people and to create a wide range of high quality social spaces where people can congregate relax and reflect. To place learning at the heart of the institution and to open visual learning to different audiences in a range of spaces available to accommodate the increasingly wide range of works in he Collection. To create a new public route across the Turbine Hall open 12 hours a day, linking the City of London and river walkway with the heartland of Southwark. To transform Tate Modern's setting and its relationship with the locality through transforming the public realm and landscape to the South and West. The building will be a model of environmental sustainability, setting new benchmarks for museums and galleries in the UK. |
